RIO LINDA, CA (MPG) – Are you a golfer looking to test your skills while supporting a good cause? Local veterans’ 501c3 nonprofit organization, American Legion is hosting their 4th Annual Golf Tournament fundraiser next month. All proceeds will go towards benefitting veterans and their families.

American Legions serves as a community hub that provides support, events and camaraderie for military veterans and their families in the Rio Linda and Elverta areas.

The golf tournament will take place at the Cherry Island Golf Course at 2360 Elverta Road. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the tournament will start at 8 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25.

In addition to this fun tournament, complimentary breakfast burritos and bloody marys will be served at the course sign in. But that’s not all, following the tournament, there will be a prime rib lunch located at Legion Hall.

If you are skilled on the golf course and want to come out to support a great cause, sign up for the 4th Annual Golf Tournament. Tickets are $140 per person or $540 per foursome. If you would still like to support without competing you can purchase tickets for just lunch at $50 per person.

Prizes include a trophy and $100 prize for categories such as Longest Drive and Closest to the Hole, there will be male and female winner for each category. If you don’t get a chance to win a prize, don’t worry there will be an opportunity drawing during dinner.

There are many opportunities available to become a sponsor for this event. For $200 you can sponsor a veteran to play in the tournament, $300 for a sponsor table at a selected hole where you can provide beverages for players and for $500 after the tournament a sponsor can provide one happy hour drink for each player. There are many more opportunities available with $3500 being the highest amount.
