RIO LINDA, CA (MPG) - Every community has people who quietly step forward when help is needed.They organize neighborhood events, volunteer their time, support local causes and bring people together. Often, their contributions happen behind the scenes, without recognition or fanfare.

The Rio Linda/Elverta Chamber of Commerce wants to change that.

The chamber is inviting residents to nominate local Community Champions. These are individuals who have made a meaningful impact on the quality of life in Rio Linda and Elverta through service, leadership and community involvement.

The recognition program aims to spotlight the people whose efforts help strengthen the community and inspire others to get involved.

According to the chamber, a Community Champion is a trusted and active member of the community who works to improve local life, mobilizes others and promotes positive change. These individuals may lead initiatives, advocate for community needs, organize events, support local programs or simply dedicate their time to helping neighbors and local organizations succeed.

From coordinating local events and supporting nonprofits to mentoring youth and bringing residents together around shared goals, community champions help build the connections that make neighborhoods stronger.

The chamber is encouraging residents, business owners and community members to think about the people who consistently step up to make a difference and submit nominations on their behalf.

To be eligible, nominees must be current members of the Rio Linda/Elverta Chamber of Commerce or affiliated with a chamber member. Anyone may submit a nomination.
