SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) – The We Are TR Foundation awarded scholarships to 12 Twin Rivers seniors at this year’s State of the District event held April 17. Thanks to the continued support of community partners and donors, the Foundation is helping to relieve financial barriers to college and making higher education more accessible and keeping students focused on what matters most: their future.

The $5000 Academics Award recipients are Anelu Amanda Aina (Foothill High School), Ryan Tsheej Her (Grant Union High School), Kailyn Evonne Robson (Rio Linda High School), Victoria Bryana Martinez (Grant Union High School) and Yadira Aguiree-Pimentel (Highlands High School).
The $5000 CTE Award recipients are Shukria Alimzai (Foothill High School), Houa Xiong (Rio Linda High School), Tai’Afa Siaosi Tupai (Grant Union High School) and Asia PajNtaub Lee (Grant Union High School).
The $5,000 CTE-First Annual Paul Torgerson Scholarship was awarded to Kaylee Vang (Grant Union High School).
The $3250 Vanguard Rio Linda Award recipients are Athena Josephine Howell (Rio Linda High School) and Dillon Jeremiah Matthew Anderson (Rio Linda High School).
