RIO LINDA, CA (MPG) – Craving a bowl of pasta? Several upcoming events and fundraisers in the Rio Linda/Elverta communities can satisfy just that.

The Rio Linda/Elverta Food Closet is holding their spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. April 11 at Calvary Luthern Church’s Social Hall, located on the corner of 5th and L Street.

Guests may bring a salad or pasta, but it is not required to attend. Tickets are $5 for children and $10 for adults. There will also be a raffle. Those who are unable to attend but would like to donate can send a check to Rio Linda Food Closet Services, P.O. Box 366, Rio Linda, CA 95673 or payPal.me/rlefoodcloset.

That same morning, the food closet is holding a yard sale from 7 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11 at 151 Delano St., Elverta, with new and used goods available for purchase to support the food closet, which distributes from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

The following weekend on April 18, the Rio Linda Elverta Country Craft Faire will hold their Dinner at the Diner Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser at Creekside Diner, 950 Oak Lane, Rio Linda. Food with be served from 5 to 8 p.m., and attendees can stop by anytime to get their fix.

Additionally, the Rio Linda Lions Club is collecting eyeglasses at Rio Linda Eye Care, 6716 Rio Linda Blvd., Suite B, Rio Linda. There is another donation box at the Rio Linda Community Center, 810 Oak Lane, Rio Linda. Residents can drop off their used eyeglasses during business hours at both locations, so they can be donated to be reused locally and internationally. To arrange for a Lions Club member to pick up glasses from you, call 916-243-0557.
