About the Rio Linda Grange
According to its website, the Grange began in 1867 as a way to improve the lives of farmers after the civil war. The Grange is instrumental in ending the railroad monopoly that prevented local farmers from shipping their crops to market. This grass roots advocacy is still alive today, as the Grange at all levels is the voice of rural America. As a non-partisan organization, the Grange lobbies for hometown values while promoting Resiliency, Self-Sustainabilty and Food Security.
