Spring and Summer Activities Unveiled

RIO LINDA, CA (MPG) – As the weather gets warmer and longer days approach, there is a plethora of community events, youth activities and pool days coming to Rio Linda this spring and summer. The Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District has unveiled their spring and summer activity guide, with something for everyone in the community.
Eggstravaganza, Rio Linda’s annual community Easter Egg Hunt returns Saturday, March 14 from 10 a.m. to noon in Babe Best Park.

Kids Night Out is taking place from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at the RLE community center. The fee is $5 per child. Space is limited, so sign up now to receive your spot.
The RLE Farmers Market will be back on Thursdays starting May 7 through Sept. 24. Vendor applications may be completed in advance at the Community Center office and will also be available on-site the day of the market.
Family Paint Night is taking place from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 22 at the RLE Community Center.
For those aquatics lovers, kick of the season with opening day at the Rio Linda High School pool on Friday, June 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. Twin Rivers students get in free with a valid school ID.
The Rio Linda High School pool will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. every day of the week except for Thursday. For public swim fees and pool party rentals, visit www.rleparks.com.

Swim-in movies are back on Saturday, June 27 and Saturday, July 11 evenings after dark at the Rio Linda High School pool. Twin Rivers students get in free with a valid school ID.
The Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Parks District is seeking lifeguards, swim instructors and pool managers for the 2026 season. Applicants must be lifeguard certified. Rio Linda’s Lifeguard Certification Courses will be held starting Feb. 27 to March 1. To register, visit www.rleparks.com.

For those interested in working with kids at summer day camps this summer, there are six job openings for Recreational Leaders. Applicants must be CPR certified.
Movies in the Park are returning this summer with dates set for Saturday, May 17 and Friday, August 14. The movies showing will be listed online on the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Parks District website's Special Events page.
Looking to get your child enrolled in a spring or summer sport? Registration is now open for dodgeball, volleyball, soccer club, flag football, pickleball, taekwondo, Capital Quarter Midget Association and more.
Summer Day Camp also returns this year providing supervised activities such as recreational games, group activities, arts and crafts, and scheduled pool visits. For more information and camp sessions visit www.rleparks.com.

For adults and seniors, there are plenty of activities as well.
The senior lunch program, hosted by District staff and sponsored byMeals on Wheels allows participants an opportunity to sit down in the RLE Community Center for meals with other senior community members. Bingo is played on Wednesdays. In-person registration is required.
Take a break and join the parks district for a fun and relaxing afternoon at one of the Monthly Movie Matinees. Matinees will be held March 19, April 16, May 21, June 18 and July 16.
Other activities for adults include painting club, tai chi and adult pickleball club.
