RIO LINDA, CA (MPG) – On Friday, Feb. 6 Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Parks District held their annual Valentine’s Bingo at the RLE Community Center, 810 Oak Lane, drawing community members and families to an evening of connection, competitive fun and prizes. Pizza was donated to the event by Papa Murphy’s.

Open to ages 5 and up, the event drew a variety of folks from families with young ones to seniors to the community center. It was the third year of the bingo event, which evolved from a Valentine’s Day dance previously held by the parks district. The event has since become a community staple, with the same bingo caller returning from previous years.

Event sponsors included Fairytale Town, California Automobile Museum, Handel’s Fair Oaks, Super Clean Car Wash, Nothing Bundt Cakes, The Klip Joint and more, who donated prizes to those “Bingo!” winners.

Yanni Lagge, recreation supervisor for the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District previously described the draw of bingo as a family-friendly event.

“Bingo was a great choice because it creates an upbeat atmosphere and gives everyone a chance to win prizes,” Lagge said.

Many event attendees went home with a smile on their face, if not without a prize from local sponsors.
