RIO LINDA, CA (MPG) - Residents of Rio Linda and Elverta are invited to enjoy a warm evening of good food and good company while supporting a vital local cause. On Saturday, Feb. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m., the Calvary Lutheran Church Social Hall, located at the corner of 5th Avenue and L Street in Rio Linda, will host a Pasta Bar, Salad and Chocolate Dinner to benefit the Rio Linda/Elverta Food Closet.

The family-friendly fundraiser offers a hearty pasta bar, fresh salads and sweet chocolate treats for just $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. In addition to the meal, attendees can participate in a raffle, including a special quilt raffle, adding to the evening’s excitement and opportunities to give back.

The event is designed not only to raise funds, but also to bring neighbors together. Organizers emphasize the importance of community connection, noting that the dinner is a chance to meet fellow residents while supporting families in need.

The impact of the Rio Linda/Elverta Food Closet is significant. In 2025 alone, the food closet helped feed more than 21,000 people in the local area, addressing food insecurity for families, seniors and individuals throughout the community.

The fundraiser is being hosted by the Rio Linda/Elverta Chamber of Commerce, an organization dedicated to advancing the commercial, industrial, civic and general interests of the Rio Linda and Elverta communities.
