RIO LINDA, CA (MPG) – The Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Parks District is kicking off the start of the summer season by hosting a Pool Bash on June 13 at the Rio Linda High School pool.
This is a family, fun-filled evening of open swim, music and concession food for folks in the community to enjoy. The event will be from 4 to 8 p.m. June 13 and there is a $4 entry fee for the pool.
The Rio Linda Lions Club is partnering with the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Parks District to provide free meals for everyone in attendance. Lions Club president Gene Kypke said that the meal includes hot dogs, a bag of chips and ice water, as well as a few other treats such as brownies.

Recreation district supervisor Yanni Lagge said that this event has been a recurring summer event for four years and is held to welcome the community back to the pool.
“Families in the community typically look forward to free swim, music and food. It's a great way to reconnect with neighbors and we usually get a solid turnout of around 200 to 300 attendees, from the last two years’ numbers,” said Lagge.
The pool is open for public swim from June 13 through Aug. 10. The schedule is from 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. The pool will be closed on Thursdays. Other dates that the pool will be closed include June 19, June 28, July 4 and July 12.
Students with the Twin Rivers Unified School District enter free with valid school identification. Students without valid identification will be required to pay entrance fee to use the aquatic facilities.
