We Are TR Foundation Awards $35,000 in Scholarships for Students

RIO LINDA, CA (MPG) – On April 11, at a special state-of-the-district event sponsored by the We Are TR Foundation and Twin Rivers Unified School District, 10 students were recognized with a total of $35,000 in scholarships to support their continued academic excellence and building brighter futures.

Three students from Rio Linda High School received awards for their outstanding academic achievement. Wania Shah was a recipient of a $5,000 scholarship; Joshua Ross and Carter Williams were both recipients of a $2,500 scholarship.

Here are all the recipients of the $5,000 and $2,500 We Are TR Foundation scholarships:

Scholarship recipients for the $5,000 award include Wania Shah (Rio Linda High School), Melany Navarrete (Grant Union High School) and Leo Garcia Gonzalez (Creative Connections Arts Academy).

Scholarship recipients for the $2,500 award include Aarmon Smith (Grant Union High School), Amy Lopez (Grant Union High School), Schonette Sanders (Grant Union High School), Luis Martinez-Cornejo (Foothill High School), Muskan Khogyani (Foothill High School), Carter Williams (Rio Linda High School), Joshua Ross (Rio Linda High School) and Mohammad Zaki Yousof (Rio Linda High School).

The We Are TR Foundation is a California nonprofit organization that raises charitable funds to support activities, programs and facilities for all the schools operating within Twin Rivers Unified School District.

The foundation provides financial aid to teachers, administrators and students in the form of grants, scholarships, studies and programs, and materials and equipment.
