RIO LINDA, CA (MPG) - The Rotary Club of Foothill-Highlands has been serving the greater Sacramento area communities of Antelope, Elverta, Foothill Farms, McClellan, North Highlands and Rio Linda since 1959.

Rotary programs have far-reaching impacts in those communities.

The Rotary’s Perfect Attendance program is a partnership with the Community Outreach Academy Middle School in North Highlands. Annually, the Rotary Club sponsors $500 toward this program that rewards students for their good school attendance with an end-of-the-year celebration at John’s Incredible Pizza.

Other public service projects conducted by the Rotary Club of Foothill-Highlands include trash clean-up along Roseville Road. Rotarians and their families and friends met recently on a Saturday morning for a cleanup along Roseville Road, just north of Madison Avenue. For about three hours, the energetic volunteers each picked up several bags of trash. 

The Roarty Club coordinated with the Sacramento Property Business Improvement District and the County of Sacramento for clean-up supplies and disposal services. Their bag donations and trash pile pickup were the last steps needed to make this project a huge success, according to Rotarians.

The Rotary Club of Foothill-Highlands meets at 12:15 p.m. Mondays. The meetings are held at the Lions Gate Hotel at McClellan Park, 3410 Westover St., North Highlands.
